Quotient maps of toric actions as Lie algebroid submersions

The action of a toric manifold fails to be free in a very controlled way. In fact, its singularities induce a Lie algebroid to which the action lifts freely. Using this observation one can view the quotient map as a submersion between Lie algebroids. This can in turn be used to construct singular symplectic structures. Finally, this theory can be used to extend T-duality (a version of mirror symmetry) to non-principal torus actions. Joint work with Gil Cavalcanti.
