first phase of the course in Ukrainian
In the first course phase, you are enrolled as a program student in the UkrMath study program at JMU Würzburg. For this purpose, a university entrance qualification is required (for refugees from Ukraine proven by a Ukrainian school leaving certificate and at least 2 semesters of study at a Ukrainian university in mathematics or a related subject) but no German language skills. If only a Ukrainian school-leaving certificate and enrolment at a Ukrainian university in mathematics or a related subject can be proven, but the studies have only just begun, limited participation as a guest student may be permitted in individual cases after examination of the documents. The persons concerned will be informed about the restrictions that will then apply.
October 2022: Common start for all participants at UkrMath. Subsequently division into three groups based on the language level.
In all three groups the four modules Linear Algebra 1+2 and Analysis 1+2 (4 SWS lecture and 2 SWS exercises in groups each, examination in each case ungraded written examination) and the two modules General Overview of Linear Algebra and General Overview of Analysis (no lectures, individual oral examination 30min on the contents of Analysis 1+2 or Linear Algebra 1+2) are completed.
Parallel to this, the language courses for the acquisition of the language level C1 and the DSH2 language exam are completed. Depending on the previous knowledge of German, the first course phase lasts three to four semesters.
