Carleson measures have originally been introduced by Lennart Carleson in 1962 to solve two major problems in complex analysis and the theory of Banach algebras, namely the interpolation problem for bounded analytic functions and the corona problem. They play an important role in harmonic analysis, stochastic analysis, PDEs, operator theory and control theory. The Arbeitsgemeinschaft gives an introduction to the Carleson embedding theorem and some of its applications.
