Oberseminar Mathematical Fluid Dynamics

The subject of this talk is evolutionary equations, such as hyperbolic conservation laws, with the property that the initial value problem admits a multitude of solutions along which a certain energy functional decays at different rates. The aim is to examine whether solutions that dissipate the energy at maximal rate command special status.
