Abstract:

The van Est map classically provides a bridge between Lie group and Lie algebra cohomology.
In this talk, I will present a generalization of the van Est map to arbitrary simplicial manifolds. I will discuss the main properties of the resulting morphism and explain how it recovers classical van Est constructions. Time permitting, I will sketch the computation of the associated higher Lie brackets, describe an extension of the construction to differential forms, and illustrate the framework through the differentiation of simplicial Lie groups.
