wümax Mathe-Camp
Are you toying with the idea of studying maths and want to make some initial contacts? Or are you still not sure about studying maths and need help deciding? Then come to the wümax Mathe-Camp at the University of Würzburg this summer!
Over five days, you can immerse yourself in the world of mathematics, get to know research activities and experience how a maths degree programme is structured. Numerous activities will provide you with insights into exciting topics and give you the opportunity to make contacts with like-minded people and lecturers who share your passion for maths.
What can you expect?
From 7 September to 11 September 2026, you can discover how exciting and varied mathematics can be in a diverse programme. Staff from the Institute of Mathematics will provide insights into their research and the content of the degree programme. During the leisure activities, you can find out what maths is all about.
In the afternoon, this is followed by a look at exciting research questions before getting to know each other better during leisure activities such as the escape room or a campus rally.
On Thursday morning, the student advisors will provide information about the mathematics degree programmes. After the Matboj competition, you can socialise with mathematicians in a relaxed atmosphere at the barbecue evening.
Each day focuses on a mathematical area from algebra, geometry, applied mathematics, etc. As in the degree programme, there is an introduction and suitable exercises in the morning. In the afternoon, there is then a suitable outlook on exciting research questions before you can get to know each other better during leisure activities such as the escape room or hands-on experiments. On Thursday, the student advisors will provide information in the morning; at the evening barbecue, you can get into conversation with mathematicians in a relaxed atmosphere.
