Examination registration and deadlines
Exam Registration Deadline
An online registration is required for any examinations in Mathematics. The registration is mandatory and a failure to the enrollment is fatal for the participation to the exam. If some preliminary evaluation is required to attend the final exam (as announced by the lecturer at the beginning of the course), the online registration still continues to be mandatory for participation.
The exam registration must be done online on WueStudy.
- Special events (pre-courses, programming course) have specific registration deadlines, that are announced during the lecturers.
- Registration for oral exams is possible at any time, however it must be done before the beginning of the exam. Please, print and bring the confirmation of the registration to the exam.
For the first exam of the semester, register online with "Erstversuch". If you have not passed the first exam, then register for the second one with "Zweitversuch". Please note that there must be at least two weeks between two exams in one semester.
- Registration for Seminars, Research in Groups und vhb-courses are open during the whole semester of the respective course. Please make sure to register before your seminar talk or any other examination.
Exam deregistration (after end of the registration period)
If you are unable to attend a mathematics examination, you do not need to deregister and, in the case of illness, usually you do not need to submit a medical certificate.
For individual oral examinations, please send a brief email notification to your examiner if possible.
There is no limit to allowed attempts for mathematics modules (with the exception of final theses). No distinction is made between non-attendance and absence due to illness. You can simply take the examination on the next regularly scheduled date, but you will have to re-register for it in WueStudy. As a rule, you are not entitled to a resit exam.
If you need to pass the GOP (end of the 2nd or 3rd semester) or KOP (end of the 4th or 5th semester in teaching degrees), and you are unable to take a module examination relevant to the
GOP or KOP due to illness, you can apply to the examination board for the GOP or KOP to be postponed by one semester by submitting a hardship application accompanied by a medical certificate from a specialist physician.
