Adriano Joao Da-Silva is an Associate Professor at the University of Tarapacá, Chile.
His main research interests lie in the dynamical behavior of control systems, particularly on Lie groups and homogeneous spaces. His work focuses on control sets, chain control sets, periodic orbits, and related topics. He is also interested in control-theoretic approaches to sub-Riemannian geometry and in dynamics on flag manifolds.

In 2014, he received a joint PhD from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and the University of Augsburg, Germany. From 2016 to 2022, he was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Campinas. Since 2022, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tarapacá, Chile.

In the winter semester 2026/2027 he will offer a course on 'Control Theory of Lie Groups and Homogeneous Spaces' (course with exercises).
The course will focus on how classical concepts such as reachability, controllability, control sets, and Lie-algebraic methods can be studied for systems on Lie groups and homogeneous spaces, taking advantage of the intrinsic geometry of these spaces.
