The Double Degree Program in Mathematics is a unique opportunity to study in two countries and earn a Master’s degree awarded by two leading international universities: the University of Calabria and the University of Würzburg. You will experience the best of both academic worlds, gaining access to a broader and richer range of courses than you would at a single institution.
Along the way, you will sharpen your language skills, immerse yourself in different cultures, and grow personally and academically. With joint supervision and exposure to vibrant research environments at both universities, you will be well prepared for further studies or an international career in mathematics and beyond.
To be eligible for the Double Degree Program, students must have completed a Bachelor's degree, totaling at least 180 ECTS credits. As general requirements:
- A completed Bachelor's degree (First Level Degree) in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- English language proficiency level B2.
- Academic competencies in core mathematical areas from previous studies.
Students from the University of Würzburg should contact either Prof. Borzi or Dr. Hartmann for a first councelling session.
- For the application you should submit a motivation letter and a current transcript of records of your Bachelor's degree and, if applicable, your Master's degree.
- If your application is accepted you must apply and enroll to the Master's programme "Mathematics International" at JMU.
- If you are already enrolled in a Master's degree programme at JMU (e.g., in Mathematics), you also need to change to the Master's programme "Mathematics International". Your previous examination results will be recognized for the double degree programme as far as possible.
