03/30/2021

The audit for the nine Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Mathematics was successfully completed on March 25 2021.

The audit for the nine Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Mathematics (Mathematics Bachelor's/Master's, Computational Mathematics Bachelor's/Master's, Mathematical Physics Bachelor's/Master's, Economathematics Bachelor's/Master's, Mathematics International Master's) was successfully completed on 25 March 2021. The degree programmes are now accredited until September 30, 2028.

The University of Würzburg (JMU) is a system-accredited university, i.e. it has a quality management system for its degree programmes that has been reviewed by a competent accreditation commission (AQAS in the case of JMU). As part of this quality management, all Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at JMU are assessed every eight years. This winter semester, it was the turn of the Mathematics programmes to pass the subject audit without any conditions.
The study of mathematics for the teaching degree for German Gymnasium was also successfully assessed during the audit. Especially the special courses for the teaching degree were positively highlighted. However, an accreditation seal cannot be awarded due to the "Staatsexamen" degree.

In addition to a very positive overall impression, the external assessment also brought suggestions that will be taken up for the further development of the mathematics degree programmes.
