Giovanni Prodi Visiting Professorship Summer Semester 2021

Oleksiy V. Kapustyan (Department of Mechanics and Mathematics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) is working in the area of qualitative analysis of infinite-dimensional evolutionary systems.
His main interests belong to the global attractors' theory and its applications to nonlinear dissipative equations of mathematical physics, including non-well-posed problems like problems without uniqueness and impulsive systems.
He has published over 80 papers in this field and has been an invited speaker at many conferences and workshops devoted to this subject. He has supervised more than 30 master's theses and 6 PhD theses.

Oleksiy V. Kapustyan received his PhD from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2000 (Habilitation in Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics of NAS of Ukraine in 2008, thesis "Global attractors of nonautonomous multi-valued dynamical systems"). He started as an assistant professor at the Institute of Physics and Technology, National Technical University of Ukraine (Kyiv) in 1998. In 2003  he got an associate professorship at Differential Equations Chair of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and became a full professor there in 2008. Since 2009 he has also been a leading researcher at the Institute for Applied System Analysis (Kyiv).

During the summer semester of 2021, Prof. Kapustyan will give the course of lectures "Stability and attractors for evolutionary equations"  (with exercises). (See www.mathinfo.uni-wuerzburg.de/vv21.html)
